Kaza's New York Adventure is a story in the Kaza’s Mate, Gwenna web comic.
Plot[]
An elderly lady wearing a purple business suit and sunglasses takes a cab to a skyscraper and when she's about to get off, the driver warns her that the residents in the building are really weird but she just tells him that they're just a little odd before getting off the taxi with her handbag. She then presses a button with Captain Evening's label besides it on the building.
Captain Evening answers her at the door and she tells him that she's here to see Kyle which see Kaza's real name and she's also with the Elsworth Family Trust.
The masked superhero tells her that Kaza's currently not around. Kaza is shown to be sitting on a rock near a lake with Jung-La skinny-dipping in it. Jung-La asks the lord of the naked jungle if he wants to go skinny-dipping in the lake again but the latter declines as he needs to return to the fortress as his lawyer from the trust will be there soon. The jungle girl asks will Lenore be there as she's coming out of the lake but Kaza says that he's unsure and it's very difficult to find the mermaid.
As Jung-La is about to get out of the lake, she asks the lord of the naked jungle if he stays in touch with his children which the latter replies seldomly but his mother keeps a close watch on them. At the mention of his mother, the jungle girl tells him that he should maintain a close bond with her as hers seldom interact with her after she becomes a member of the Odds.
During their conversation as the both of them are heading back to the fortress of evening in their birthday suits, a paparazzi wishes to interview them regarding how they caught the vampires in the previous chapter. Kaza tells Jung-La that he'll do the talking as unlike her, he's used to being seen by strangers in his current state.
Suddenly, an explosion happened near the Bedwick Hotel so the two naked run over there to investigate with the paparazzi tailing along as he wishes to see and film them in action. Once they reach the site, Jung-La is already in her plant girl form and she recognizes the culprit as a robot named Rustbucket. She then shares with Kaza what she knows about it and tells him her plan in defeating it.
After subduing the robot, Martha arrives on the scene with Captain Evening to catch up with her son and make introductions; she’d heard of Jung-La, but this was their first meeting. In the middle of the conversation, Kaza overhears the criminal controlling Rustbucket mentioned that he was set up by Funnybones. After questioning the criminal to confirm whether he heard the name correctly, Martha explains to the curious Jung-La that Funnybones is the murderer of the man who's both her husband and Kaza's father.
When the four of them are in the living room of the fortress of evening, Martha tells Evening and Jung-La more about her late husband which embarrasses her son. Evening later reveals that the criminal being apprehended earlier on is Tony Starch and his claim of working for Funnybones is true after receiving a call from the police. The police also informed him that Funnybones also has a few hideouts from which is where Starch acquired the Rustbucket robot.
Martha then says there's a way to track down Funnybones and brings them to The Roost, a base hidden inside a clock tower which is occasionally used by Kaza’s father as The Black Owl. Kaza mentions that he seldom uses it as he has difficulty accessing it and Jung-La inquires him about the two costumes in one section of the base while Captain Evening gets to work in finding Funnybones location with a crime computer in the vicinity which hasn't been used in a long time that Martha says it's one of the best. As they were heading out as superheroes, Martha decided it was appropriate to once again take up her other identity as Lady Venus - a nudist superheroine who was long retired but well-known by reputation to Captain Evening who happened to be a fan of hers but her son is shocked by this revelation about her.
In the Odd-Mobile Jung-La shows interest of Martha's secret life as Lady Venus which the latter replies that she quits being a superheroine after being married to Kaza's father. When asked why she wants to go superheroing again, she says that she wants to ensure that the operation belonging to the late murderer of her husband is shut down permanently.
At the location of Funnybones' assumed hideout, Lady Venus decides to take charge much to Kaza's objection and annoyance but he decides to play along. Kaza and Evening will check out the east while the ladies investigate the west. While Jung-La enquiries about Martha's strategy, an unknown figure is spying on them. Jung-La then notices an arieal drone flying above them which Lady Venus takes out easily with a precise throw of a feather from her wings. Then a gang of elderly thugs come to confront them and Lady Venus notices that their uniforms are similar to the ones worn by Funnybones' henchmen. When one of them defiantly refuses to answer Martha's question over why they're dressed in this manner by being blunt with her, Jung-La shuts him up by spraying some sap on his mouth after getting into her plant girl form.
After a few punches and kicks, the ladies are able to take out the thugs easily. When one of the thugs regain consciousness, he recognizes Martha in her superheroine outfit to her shock and she in turn knows him as James who is later revealed to be a former worker of her husband.
Lady Venus then contacts the boys about their situation and Evening responds that he and Kaza they also encounter Funnybones' thugs on their end. Martha this time without her mask on and wearing a top suddenly tells the boys to stop after they are finished with their end.
She then introduces her son to James after telling him about the matter they're dealing with is very complicated and Kaza immediately recognizes him as one of the two workers who help to clear the parachutes of the Owlmobile. After hearing the name of his former colleague who's name is Bob, Jame mention that he died after telling him about Funnybones' warehouse. Soon, a few other thugs reveal that they're short on cash which is the reason why they're commiting this crime. The thugs reveal that Tony Starch is the one who forced them to work for him. After hearing their problems, Martha proposes a solution for them.
The next day, Gwenna enters the fortress of evening more naked than usual through a teleporter (as it doesn't allow inorganic stuff to pass through). The completely nude Lady of the naked jungle (as she's not even wearing her accessories at all) calls out for Madison, Evening and her husband but there aren't any response at all which she finds it strange and begins exploring the building. She then hears a voice coming from a room which she goes to investigate and is shocked to see her mother-in-law having a business conversation with an unknown person on the laptop in her birthday suit.
